The Official Low-Band VHF (2 - 6) Reception Thread - AVS Forum
For the time being, I aim a silver sensor in between the gap the 2 roofs leave to get the best signal quality on my UHF station, but for channel 3, I need more definitely more height and probably more gain. I'm thinking 5 element cut-to-channel minimum with my current signal quality.

My understanding from speaking with Channel Master is they shipped 400 units a day to customers starting Friday, and that the last set of pre-January 4 pre-orders shipped today.

What kinds of weather and/or atmospheric conditions can affect TV transmissions? Are sunspots, solar flares, and other atmospheric conditions typically a factor?

You'll have the benefit of using the audio surround codecs and LFE/subwoofer channel which will add real quality and presence to the audio vs. a stereo downmix. FWIW, I use a 5.3 setup for my backyard theater. The additional speakers add maybe 5-6 extra minuets of setup time.

Dale, My Directv receiver converts the digtal channel number to the analog number. I never see the digital channel number. Example: WBTV digital (23), my receiver whould display 3-1 and 3-2 (The weather radar) Why do you have so many antennas?

The weather is more of a factor. UHF TV signals may get out around 40-60 miles from the transmitter since they travel in (more or less) a straight line and the earth curves away.
