So I released my fall grades, and, within about five minutes, one of my students took to ratemyprofessors to write me a scathing review. I understand it's part of the game, that these reviews are hardly scientific, and that it's the trend rather than one bad review when you have good ones (which I do).

RateMyProfessor is a website that is only interesting to people who do not understand sampling bias and its effects, and those of us (professors) who deliberately post ridiculous garbage on our and each others' listing.

Chem 209 is similar to highschool chem 30, but with new stuff. As for 225, ratemyprofessor has some good comments about Denis onen, and some not so good. But you can always attend different lectures. Tl;dr: ratemyprofessor is a good reference, but you should learn to ‘decode’ reviews and corroborate by speaking to people who have taken the professor or know them in a professional capacity. Edit: I think it’s also very important to note that there can be unintentional bias against professors who have accents.
